Three pillars of embodied wellbeing

1.

Understanding how your body works:

It's likely that you need a healthy dose of education about how stress works in your nervous system and how your mind and body actually work, so you can understand how you were shaped in embodied way into who you are today.

When you understand how your body works, you can tend to and heal what's not working at the root level of your nervous system.

Most of us don’t know what’s happening in our bodies and we think that there is something wrong.

The education helps to heal the part of you that is feeling guilty and ashamed around your symptoms and that piece is so important to be able to move forward with self-compassion. Many women blame themselves for not being able to show up as they want to and not living up to your full potential.

2.

Increasing your body-mind awareness skills:

Unresolved trauma and chronic stress often stunt our ability to feel safe and connect to ourselves, others, and our environment. Healing then is often about growing our capacity to come back to connection with these things in the present moment awareness through biological awareness skills.

When I talk about connection, I am not talking about some mystical thing that's out there in the ethereal space. I am talking about good old-fashioned sensory input and embodied grounding and presence.

Whether you're struggling with gut issues, tension, brain and mental focus, autoimmunity or chronic fatigue - learning how to bring this connection back is essential to your healing.

Practicing embodiment to explore & connect:

Stress and trauma doesn't happen in our mental sphere (even if it shows up as mental struggle such as over-thinking or brain fog). It happens in our physical body which drives our thoughts, beliefs, stories and behaviours.

We can learn to be deeply grounded in presence and connection through embodiment (body) practices, which help us regulate our nervous system.

Practices are the third piece of the puzzle, in addition to education and self-awareness tools. It's where the healing magic happens!

Here you learn to move at your own pace with curiosity and self-compassion, which is such a new experience for many women - and in order to make it feel safe, we slow down enough to tune in for a few moments, a few times a day. You learn to titrate your practices which is like a balm to a nervous system that’s been functioning in high-sympathetic overdrive without a break.
